Guggul should be used with caution by persons with liver disease and in cases of inflammatory bowel disease and diarrhea.

Guggul is not recommended for pregnant women.

Allergic skin rash occurs in less than one percent of people who take gum guggul. The rash subsides when product use is discontinued.
